You awaken and find yourself on the beach of a strange island with a mysterious-looking octangular box. It appears to be intricately crafted from several wood species unfamiliar to you. Ornate relief carvings and wooden inlays adorn the top face with what appears to be a sea dragon surrounded by 12 unique images of creatures and humanoids. Each image seems more fascinating than the next. You lose yourself in the mystery of the box and the images upon it. A sharp crack in the forest nearby diverts your attention for a moment. Are you alone in this strange place? You feel the wise thing to do would be to investigate your surroundings, but an irresistible urge compels you to turn your gaze upon the box once more. You examine the sides and see strange gears and other wooden pieces turning from some unseen force. You can feel it too. It’s somewhat like electricity, wind, and magnetism, but yet unlike any. With your awareness of the force comes an absolute certainty that there is something precious inside. There must be some way to open it, but how? As soon as the question occurs to you, you somehow find yourself embued with the answer from the unseen force. This is an ancient puzzle box, and somehow you know the sequence and series of knobs and hidden features to push, pull and twist to unlock the treasure inside. It feels as if youve done it hundreds of times before and have only to give your hands the command to open it. You feel your heart in your chest crescendo like a beating drum. Your hands tremble with anticipation. Your mind stumbles awake to face the question... Will I open the box? Are its contents for you or are they for another? The choice is yours and yours alone.
