He failed to become a WPT Champion, however, and one of the reasons is that Josh Arieh made a huge hero call against him at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic final table. Jaka raised pre flop with a lowly queen-duece, and Arieh looked him up with ace-nine. Arieh called a bet on the flop, both players checked on the turn, and the river paired the board. Arieh checked a third time, prompting Jaka to fire out a bet with high queen-high. Arieh was shuffling chips in his hand and slammed them down in his stack before dipping into the tank. He eventually found a call, propelling him to a second-place finish and nearly a million dollars.
